Hello again! Sorry for the lack of recent posts, as there has been major “schtuff” going on in my personal life. It has been both exciting and scary, happy and sad … but the BIG news is that I will be leaving my current position with an amazing, prominent organization in downtown Detroit for a new adventure, a little closer to home. This new job opportunity was a complete surprise (pretty much fell into my lap), and everything happened so fast that I am still reeling from the shock of it. I know that this is the best decision for me and my family, but it’s still very hard to leave all of the wonderful people that I have worked with over the last six years!
In light of this major life change, I was inspired to create the following card as a make-and-take for my very first Open House, which was held last Saturday, June 13th. I discovered the faux cyanotype technique on Amanda Sevall’s blog, and thought we’d give it a try. The peony image was absolutely perfect for this type of design, and the sentiment pairing of “Good Things Are Going to Happen” and “You’ve Got This” couldn’t have been more fitting for my personal situation last week. Everyone absolutely LOVED the way these turned out!
Speaking of my little Open House, I was very excited to see some new faces in my stamping studio! My grandmother even joined us … and she was completely smitten with this particular card. I don’t even know if she stopped by any of the other make-and-take tables, lol! She loves to create beautiful watercolor paintings, so this one was right up her alley. I wish I had remembered to take a picture of her completed card, it was gorgeous!
And here are a few more pictures of everybody, all hard at work!
I hope you enjoyed today’s card! If you would like to be notified of future Open Houses, Stamp Classes and/or Workshops, please send an email to stampdaydesigns@gmail.com. I’ll be sure to keep you posted!
See ya next time … ink, ink, smudge, smudge!
