SNEAK PEEK! CARD – Silent Night

I can’t believe I’ve already started making Christmas cards, but I’ve set a goal for myself to create a different card for each family/person on my Christmas list this year, so I’ve got to start early! And even though I cringe at the thought of summer fading away, I’ve got to say that I am very excited to share a sneak peek of some new products from the upcoming holiday catalog with you!

Today’s card features a new stamp set called “Wonderland.” It includes those gorgeous antlers and the “Silent Night” sentiment, along with a fantastic grouping of pine trees, a pine branch with pinecone, some scattered snowflakes and concluding sentiment “All is calm, all is bright.” The paper is new too, and is called “Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper.” It has a beautiful variety of Basic Black, gold foil and Whisper White patterns that compliment this stamp set wonderfully.

These new products (and more!) will  debut in the upcoming “Handmade for the Holidays” mini fall occasions catalog, which will be available to the general public on Tuesday, September 1st. Stay tuned for more sneak peeks in the coming days!

CARD – Watercolor Winged Wishes

Very quick post today. I’ll be spending the afternoon with family, saying goodbye to a loved one who passed suddenly on Tuesday morning.

Anyway, this little project is about a month old; I just realized the picture was still sitting in my camera … oops! Can you tell I’m just loving all of those wonderful butterfly products: Butterfly Basics stamp set, Watercolor Wings stamp set, Butterflies thinlits, and the Bold Butterfly framelits?

Here’s a tip for using the Watercolor Wings stamp set with the Bold Butterfly Framelits:

  1. Stamp the largest (most solid) butterfly image first.
  2. Die cut the stamped image.
  3. Go back and layer the body and subsequent wing images.

By stamping the largest image first, the wings will line up perfectly in the die. Then, when you stamp the body after cutting, it will be easier to judge placement. As you can tell from my card, I learned this lesson the hard way, lol! (My poor butterfly’s head got cut off!)
