CARD – Peaceful Wreath

Good morning! Yup, I’m back to Christmas cards again, lol! Today I’d like to share with you this festive card, made with “Peaceful Wreath” from the new 2015 Holiday Catalog. I have a couple of quick tips to provide on this one:

  • The wreath is stamped in Old Olive, and I simply used a the brush tip of my blender pen to pull the ink from the line drawing into the leaves. I used the fine point tip of the same blender pen to pick up some Cherry Cobbler from the inside of my stamp pad case to add a dot of color to each berry. To clean your pen, just scribble it over a clean area of scrap paper until the ink runs clear again.
  • I heat embossed the Peace sentiment in white onto a scrap of Cherry Cobbler and punched it out my 2″ Circle Punch. Then I placed Stampin’ Dimensionals onto the back of the wreath and centered the sentiment circle in the hole before adhering. By adding this extra step, it made it so much easier to get my sentiment and wreath to look nice and tidy on the front of my card, and it also allowed me to dry emboss the banner without damaging the sentiment. 😉

CARD – Deck the Halls

Just a quick post today featuring a couple of new items from the brand-new 2015 Holiday Catalog, “Handmade for the Holidays,” which went public this past Tuesday (yippee!).

I’ve got to say that I am loving these new ornament dies … so very versatile! There are three different size ornaments in the die set. Two of the ornaments have both an intricately cut version (as used in my card today), and an outline version. And of course there’s a coordinating stamp set. Use them together, or use them separately, the combinations are endless!

So on to today’s card … I was working toward a clean and simple design, and I think I’ve achieved it. The ornament and card base were another couple of pieces that had been sitting in my workspace for awhile. Neither were working well in the projects for which they were originally intended, but fate has brought them together (ha ha ha). Enjoy!

SNEAK PEEK! CARD – Silent Night

I can’t believe I’ve already started making Christmas cards, but I’ve set a goal for myself to create a different card for each family/person on my Christmas list this year, so I’ve got to start early! And even though I cringe at the thought of summer fading away, I’ve got to say that I am very excited to share a sneak peek of some new products from the upcoming holiday catalog with you!

Today’s card features a new stamp set called “Wonderland.” It includes those gorgeous antlers and the “Silent Night” sentiment, along with a fantastic grouping of pine trees, a pine branch with pinecone, some scattered snowflakes and concluding sentiment “All is calm, all is bright.” The paper is new too, and is called “Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper.” It has a beautiful variety of Basic Black, gold foil and Whisper White patterns that compliment this stamp set wonderfully.

These new products (and more!) will  debut in the upcoming “Handmade for the Holidays” mini fall occasions catalog, which will be available to the general public on Tuesday, September 1st. Stay tuned for more sneak peeks in the coming days!
