The holidays are upon us, and here I am (as usual) in a frenzy of last minute crafting. Every year I come up with some cute little project that I *believe* will be easy to pull off in large quantity. The last few nights I’ve been busy busy busy in my studio working an assembly line of sorts … boy am I tired! Unfortunately, I can’t show you those projects yet, so instead I’ll share with you another quick and easy Christmas card. Enjoy!

Another fun card today … such dramatic results with simple techniques! I found my inspiration in this card by Jen Timko (Stampin’ on the Fly). I chose to go a slightly different technical route, but I still love the look.
I used a piece of watercolor paper with my reinkers to create a very messy night sky background. I added two or three layers of color, really saturating the paper and using my heat tool to dry after each application.
The spots and spatters came next by gently flicking clean water over the dry finished background. I let these dry naturally in order to really react with the pigment already on the paper, and then die-cut with the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits.

I have a fun and easy card for you today! I’ve been collecting a few rolls of washi tape here and there for a while now, but when it came time to make something with it I always struggled. This design just kind of came to me out of the blue, and I think it turned out great! Very easy to duplicate, so you could make a bunch of these pretty easily.

Good morning everyone! Been up since 4am, so I might as well work on the technical difficulties I’ve been having with my new photo program. (Who am I kidding … more like operator error, ha ha ha.) A few more online searches, maybe a YouTube video tutorial or two, and I might just get my act together again soon.
In the mean time, I have a super luxe Christmas card to share today. Very shiny, and very GOLD! I’m generally more of a silver person myself, but the look is growing on me. Enjoy …

Good evening! Sorry for the long absence, I’ve been having several technical difficulties lately. I purchased a new photo editing program, and it hasn’t been as easy to learn as I thought – ugh! Anyhow, hopefully with a little practice I’ll get faster at editing, and won’t be embarrassed to publish the results!
So today’s’ project was inspired by this card, created by Mary Brown (aka: StamperCamper). I loved the clean simplicity of hers … but struggled creating my own version, as I just don’t do clean & simple all that well, lol! Enjoy!

Good evening! I’m back today with another fun project. This one really surprised me – it didn’t turn out at all like I had intended – it turned out WAY better! Don’t ya just love when that happens?!
My last Stampin’ Up! order included these beautiful, intricately laser-cut, wooden Snowflake Elements. I’ve been hoarding them away in my embellishment drawer for while now. (I’ve really got to stop doing that!) I think I pulled them out at least half a dozen times, only to stash them away again for some future “perfect” project. The same thing can be said about the Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack … look at that gold foiling, gorgeous! Enjoy!

I’ve been back to making Christmas cards again, and yesterday I had an idea that was very graphic and modern. I love the way it turned out. Unfortunately these pictures do not do it justice as the subtle details that really bring it to life were difficult to photograph. 😦
I started by stamping the splotches from Gorgeous Grunge onto a Whisper White card front with a few non-traditional Christmas colors: Garden Green, Watermelon Wonder and Bermuda Bay. Then I heat embossed the trees in white embossing powder onto Whisper White cardstock and punched them out. As I moved the pieces around, I realized I would need something to ground them, so I added a strip of Everyday Chic Washi across the middle before adhering them with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
At this point I knew I was headed in the right the direction, but felt like it was still lacking something. I cut the “Merry” sentiment from Basic Black, and stacked it with two more pieces of thick Whisper White underneath for some stability and dimension. Finally, a Silver glimmer star to top the middle tree! Enjoy!
