CARD – Sending Good Thoughts

So I’m totally stepping out of my comfort zone today … I’ve been following several different card challenge blogs for a while, but have always been too shy to participate. I guess now that I’m blogging all of my crazy creations, what have I got to be shy about anymore?

Today’s card was created for “The Card Concept” Challenge #29 – Get Well Soon. I struggled with it a little bit, but I’m satisfied with the way it turned out. I think it would probably fit best in the Clean and Simple (CAS) category.

I really loved that the little crocheted stars were all different colors and scattered across the table in the inspiration picture. I looked around for a get well sentiment, but realized I’m a little lacking in that department (thankfully it’s not a sentiment that is needed frequently in my house). When I came across the Perfect Pennants set, I realized that the word “sending” in this particular sentiment would go perfectly with the little envelope from the new set Lovely Amazing You. I also thought it would be cute to scatter little hearts across the front in different colors. What do you think?

Instructions:

  1. Start with an 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Wisteria Wonder card stock. Score and fold at 4-1/4″ to create an A2 card base.
  2. Ink up the “Sending Good Thoughts Your Way” sentiment from the Perfect Pennants set with Versamark ink and heat emboss with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Don’t forget to use the Embossing Buddy to reduce static!
  3. Cut a 3-5/8″ x 3-7/8″ piece of Whisper White card stock.
  4. Begin by stamping the envelope from Lovely Amazing You in Hello Honey ink.
  5. Randomly stamp the two heart images from Best Day Ever in Strawberry Slush, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Wisteria Wonder and Pink Pirouette ink.
  6. Add a final heart to seal the envelope, heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss powder.
  7. Cut a narrow strip of Strawberry Slush card stock 3-7/8″ tall and adhere behind the Whisper White panel, just peeking out from the right side.
  8. Give the entire panel a lift with Stampin’ Dimensionals!
